Edward Kennedy Academy for Health Careers is created.

Initially a pilot high school and located on the campus of Northeastern University, it becomes an in-district charter school in 1998. The school subsequently maintains a lower school at 10 Fenwood Road and an upper school at 384 Warren Street.
